A SCARCE .36 PERCUSSION SERVICE-REVOLVER, MODEL 'NEW MODEL NAVY', serial no. 27953,
for between 1863-78, with 7 3/8in. octagonal barrel signed by the maker and marked 'NEW MODEL', pinched blade fore-sight, small anchor mark near breech, top-strap with sighting groove, solid iron frame, plain six-shot cylinder with safety notches, brass trigger guard and smooth walnut grips (iron surfaces darkly stained, grips worn)
